What's wrong with meeting in the middle? God gave us science, it doesn't have to be a replacement for God. I don't understand how people can place faith in a story that had been delivered orally for generations. We know the Earth didn't just come as it is today and there were all kinds of life that predated humans... however, one thing Genesis has right is that we humans are the new kids on the planet. And I still wonder how Adam and Eve populated the Earth when they had three boys... where did their wives come from?

You mean Baptists do the best job using ignorance, fear and intimidation to brainwash already simple-minded people.

I'll have to surf more Baptist websites, because for the life of me I've never heard of a Baptist program to help people living with AIDS. Neither have I ever heard of a Baptist group helping the poor......All I've heard in my 52 years on this planet are all the horrible inhuman activities of the Baptist church---- like brainwashing, taking 10% of poor people's money, going on political pogroms against gays, I could go on and on and on.

Oh by the way, the porno star Adam/Creation Museum story was on MSNBC last night! (as a piece of news to laugh at)

Of course I personally think that it is absurd that water covered the globe at one time (considering it has been proven that not enough water exists in the atmosphere, rocks, oceans, lakes, etc. to account for enough to cover the globe)

Could you please explain to me, how in a planet where 70% is water and only 30% is land,you can say that there is not enough water in the oceans lakes, etc... to cover the earth? Is it improbible? Would it need a major starting point, like a massive meteor, shifting of plates, etc... to bring it about? Yes. But to say there isn't enough water for it to happen. Come now!!!

It might help if you read what the actual scriptures say on the subject to understand why it isn't possible for that much water to exist on the planet earth.

In case you haven't bothered, and many who defend the Bible actually don't know much of what is really in there, it says the Lord brought rain onto the planet for 40 days & nights to raise the water level on the planet to a depth of 15 cubits (22.5 ft) over the highest mountain.

Personally I use the New International Version. As I didn't want to type everything out I used an online version and copied and pasted. In reality you could use any version. They all tell the same story.

Anyways, here's the Revised Standard Version... basically says the exact same thing... but if it rocks your boat (sorry, I can't help myself with the puns... ^_^

RSV: 1: But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided;

2: the fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained,

3: and the waters receded from the earth continually. At the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters had abated;

If the Genesis story is indeed fact, then all of humanity comes from a small stock of inbreds...

Maybe that's why so many of us live in trailers, drink beer out of cans, smoke Camel unfiltered cigs, fight and watch the Jerry Springer Show. Inbreeding does that to folks...:) hehheeee

The fountains of the deep that God had to stop was water that was coming up, from under the earth, not just water that was coming down from heaven. So the Bible does NOT state that the earth was flooded merely from rain falling from the sky.

Also, these fountains of the deep may include tsunami's, as well as other natural phenomena.

So where did all this water go? You do know that tsunamis do not contain water that isn't already there, right? Shake a bowl of water and watch what happens to the water. On a much different scale, that's all a tsunami is.

It's even more amazing that in this day and age people can ignore what they can easily observe themselves to fool themselves and hold on to what they were told to believe.
