Hot Metal bridge progress

I snapped a couple of pictures the other day, to show you guys how well this project is coming along.

The main section of the bridge is shown here. They are working on the 'floor' now...

Here you can see the new section connecting the bridge to the trail across the road...

Thank you, TheGerbil. I grow weary of "illegally" crossing that bridge. This will make for a nice skyline vantage point when completed.

Excellent news, the pedestrian bridge is finished! I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony today, and there were so many people, many with bikes or on rollerblades. Ravenstahl and Onorato were there, as well as many people who were involved with the project. We all walked across together (probably about 200 people!) and continued on to the REI store, where several people made brief speeches. They even thanked Tom Murphy, who originally suggested the conversion of the bridge many years ago (before the Pittsburgh Technology Center or SouthSide Works existed).

I didn't bring a camera, but I'll try to get some shots soon of the completed bridge and the great view so I can share them with you.
