Mobile city and county governments will divide land they jointly own on the site of the former Albert P. Brewer Center. This will allow the county to cheaply lease 20 acres facing Hitt Road to the YMCA and Team Focus for new facilities.

The city would take ownership of 35 acres of playing fields known as Westside Park in the rear of the property, adding that to 20 acres the city already owns. Under former Mayor Mike Dow, the city had planned to build a "City Hall West" on the 20 acres facing Hitt Road.

The former Copeland's Restaurant building on Airport Blvd was purchased for $1.25 million and will be demolished to build a retail strip center.
