Russia is not going to tolerate Bush's missile system in Europe. Can we get rid of Bush before the world is taken to the abyss?

Meanwhile, new news today that Bush's surge is not meeting even the low goals that it set back in January. In a related move, the Bush Administration will no longer allow the press to show the wounded on TV.

Why haven't we booted him already? For all the lies. For all the behind closed doors, not under oath, no transcript meetings. For all the death he's caused. For stealing the first election. Let him have an affair, he'll be impeached like that!

If it was the 60's or 70's Bush would have been thrown out of office less the Government wanted riots and civil unrest to disrupt the status quo. What many here are forgetting, is that we are dealing with a generation of Americans, a majority of which are fat lazy self centered slobs, that care only for themselves. These idiots don't give too hoots and tinker's damn about the world around them as long as they can flutter their noise tubes on a cell phone and driving their big SUV's while stuffing Big Mac's and Whoppers down their cholesterol lined throats on their way to buy crap they don't need at Wal-Mart.

These tubs of lard are not going to stand up against Bush or any wrong doing the Government may be accused of because they don't care about the world around them. Why else is UP stuff to the rafters with rants about such things like the lack of good mass transit, failing public schools, etc. It's not just the incompetence of our loving Uncle Sam at play in such issues. Its the fact these yuppy nub skulls are too greedy to pass the millages needed to fund improvements to such services. In short as long as this trend of greedy, politically correct, self righteous, poppycock continues, those that realize the problems with this country and trying there hearts out to fix them have it up the creek coming and going.

Hopefully America will soon wake up to the fact that its going down the wrong path. Because its suffering from the same exact complaisance that destroyed the great Roman Empire and so many great powers before it.

I agree, most Americans are just too self-absorbed to care... or they gave up. People seem to just deal with the world even though it may be hurting them. Change is just too difficult these days to undertake.

I think its funny that a new bush-hating thread gets started here about every two days, but when someone started a thread a while back complaining about democrats it got closed because "we already have one of those".

I was livid when I heard about this! Why are we still trying to fund and supply Europe's defense? This plan needs to be scraped and we need to close our bases there and in the Middle East. When will we ever learn that we can't continue to protect our allies, they are perfectly capable of doing that themselves. We could save billions of dollars every year if we pull our forces and resources back home. It's also time to leave South Korea, we need to butt out and let them worry about their own affairs.

Putin still has a KGB and Cold War mentality; he has and never will be our ally. We need to stay out of any conflict that may arise from this situation. We don't need to bring back the distrust that was present 30 years ago.

Do you seriously think that the remains of a former dictorial government which has been history has shown to repeatedly use barbaric and brutal methods on their own citizens to assert world domination, has overwhelming discrimination over gender, race, social, and economic classes, that has had an economic recession that has lasted since the 70’s is actually capable of controlling anything?

Russia has had an awful lot of near misses with their space program.

I worked with a company in the early 2000's that did a fairly sizable business and Russia, and I even worked with some engineers that worked on Buran, the Russian space shuttle. My assessment is pretty accurate.

No, actually it was Bush who set US-Russian relations back 20 years with his insistence on developing a missile defense program, sending a blatantly hostile message to the Russians.

Come on. What other message can a missile defense system in Europe send to the Russians than "we don't trust you?" Hardly the message I'd like to send a fledgeling ally. If you want to blame Putin for the chilling of relations, what actions of his were similarly aggressive to the US?

I have to agree that Putin has failed his people. He should be cleaning up corruption and welcoming foreign investment if he wants to prove to the world that he means what he says. Look at what China has accomplished since 1999, when it decided to prove to the world that it wasn't a backwards country incapable of managing an economic hotbed like Hong Kong. Russia had a 10-year head start, and all they can do to prove to the world that they are still relevant is unzip their pants and pull it out.
