Poland has definitely been one of the fastest former eastern bloc countries to break away from the Soviet Era days. The changes were early, and very rapid. Haven't ever been, but from everything I can tell, the changes have been stunning.

I've seen photos of the subway system built in Warsaw - all of it post-Soviet era. That, along with developments like these make Warsaw an attractive city!
