Highland Avenue in Birmingham

12 posts in this topic

uptownliving made a request to see photos of Highland Avenue in Birmingham. Highland Avenue has always been one of my favorite streets within the City of Birmingham. It begins at 20th Street in the Five Points South area and continues eastward for 2 miles through the Highland Park Historic District. Along the way, it takes a serpentine route along the edge of 3 semicircular parks as it passes many historic homes, apartment and condo buildings, churches, and synagogues (2 synagogues located within 2 blocks of each other). So without further adieu, here is what can be seen as you travel along Highland Avenue beginning at 20th Street and heading eastward:

Awesome photos, Randy! I love this area of town.

Technically... I am an Alabama resident now. I hate TN so much I registered my car in St. Clair County this weekend  I'd rather see the great state of Alabama get my money than crusty old Tennessee ...

awesome, great to see "my hood" without having to walk outside...

Randy, I went by that building on Highland and 30th last week while helping a friend move into The Sheraton, and it's a little different than mine in how it's laid out, but otherwise it's the exact same design and appearance.
