Lakeshore Athletic Club Building May Be Replaced By Condo Tower

This landmark building dating from 1927 was owned by Northwestern University until its recent sale to a condominium developer. The building contains some remarkable interiors, including a pool where Johnny Weissmuller and others once swam. I think that, at the very least, the exterior of the building should be preserved, and certain elements of the interior could well be used in a condo conversion. This isn't just another building ripe for disposal.
