Town Center in Winston-Salem?

Recommended Posts

I'm heading downtown Winston-Salem at the end of the month for a wedding. Due to the line of work I'm in, I can probably write the trip off if I can find a site downtown that would be considered the major public plaza or town center (not speaking of neo-trad town centers) to compare to our public space up here in Pittsburgh.

Is there such a place?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, the most interesting urban public space in Winston-Salem is probably Salem Square especially if you go on a night where there is a concert. Other than that, Corpening Plaza is more plaza less town center. The most successful town center public space downtown is West 4th Street during Summer evenings when they close it for concerts and, to a lesser extent, Winston Square.
