National Zoo Contemplates Renovation

Plans are being formed to renovate the National Zoo above Woodley Park. The zoo is in need of some serious freshening up, with its last major renovations having taken place in the 1970s. Possibilities include the construction of an aerial tram and the construction of new parking garages. A better option, underground parking, would provide more space for the animals and would create a better atmosphere overall. This master plan is in the early stages of development and will not be completed until 2016. Given the popularity of the National Zoo, it's certainly time that something is done to bring it forward into the present era.
