Putin in Kennebunkport

After being deftly outmaneuvered in recent weeks by Vladamir Putin particularly in reference to the European defense shield, it looks like Dubya has decided to bring in the backup- Daddy. Daddy was a CIA guy from back in the day, so maybe Putin and Daddy can have an old-school CIA-KGB showdown over some Lobstah. Meanwhile, Dubya can sit there and try to get the spilled butter out of his jacket....

George H.W.Bush is probably totally embarrassed by his son's public reputation. Having George H.W. Bush present is probably the only way Putin was talked into visiting.

Maybe Poppy (George H.W.Bush) and Putin might even discuss CIA/KGB foreign assasinations while Dubya throws horseshoes with Karl Rove.

ps for those of you not familiar with George H.W.Bush (president before Clinton) his adult nickname is/was Poppy. Close friends and family all call him Poppy. Lots of declassified CIA documents relating to the Bay of Pigs have "Poppy" all over the place. Poppy did this--Poppy did that. When it's all said and done, George H.W.Bush is probably as sinister and evil as Cheney.

Dubya squandered an opportunity to create an alliance with Russia after 9/11. Putin bent over backward to cajole the ex-Soviet states into allowing us overflight rights and bases. But we shoved our weight around and acted like Russia's opinion didn't matter on other world issues, and they resented it.

Now Putin's cronies are chasing out western investment and taking over - for pennies on the dollar.

Just one more example of failed foreign policy, and why it should be re-examined.

Although I always did think Dubya was a foolish and naiive lightweight for saying he "saw Putin's soul". OK. Do business with people. Fine. But keep the holy spirits out of things, please.
