City's efforts to become more green

We're already home to a lot of green buildings, but what is the city government doing to help the environment? Well some efforts have been slow to get started, but we just got a federal grant to use for solar energy initiatives. We also got a state grant to convert city garbage trucks to use biodiesel fuel.

I'm glad to see the city making such efforts. I hope they keep working at it.

Yes I read that this morning - it's so sweet. They mentioned Pittsburgh being cloudy and the inevitable snickers that will follow - but solar panels are made to use wavelengths with the most energy anyway, not just visible light - so the US is actually fairly uniform in how much solar energy we can generate. Any place near the equator is always going to be more productive than any place in Arizona or Pennsylvania.
