It was an engineering marvel.  That train was easily over a mile long with easily 100+ tanks [not including humvees, water purification trucks, etc).  It was a spectacle.

Two photos from yesterday of Piedmont 75 arriving in Charlotte. Although the Amtrak Station is an embarrassment (there's a tree growing on the roof!!!!) it sure has one of my favorite views of the skyline.

Hello! I don't usually post, so hopefully I'll figure out how to properly put pictures.

These are not the best: I had a connection in Charlotte the other day while going back to France, so I took these from the plane during take off.
Also, a little video:

That angle is really starting to get some nice density! To my surprise, my father finds these shoots from above unimpressive: he'd rather see the skyline from the interstate, "downtown looks bigger that way: it looks rather small from above"...Well, to each his own, I suppose.

pictures don't do it justice.  Looking from section 119 (3d base line) is the best view.  you "look through" the density, and it's pretty awesome.  sight line are pretty amazing at the ballpark.

It's nice there's now a venue to show off the top of the Carillon Tower. The top is the one cool thing about it.

Anything proposed to go up beside the Vue (I think that's the vue), So that gap can start filling in?

200 feet of federal courthouse, and there is an apartment tower being discussed beside 5th and Poplar, but I doubt it makes it to this cycle, and I think Vue would cover it up from this angle.
