I hope some of y'all are out taking pics tonight (maybe @KJHburg ?) because it's gonna be an epic sunset.

After adding the last photo of this sequence, I'm starting to think all the colored lights might be -- as the kids say today -- a little "extra".  Imho.

Great freakin photos.  Little ol Charlotte has wide hips lol....Look out Denver the QC can hang with the glamour shots now.

Just wait for legacy union phase 2 and 3, 401 S. Graham, Moxy, Ally Center, 300’ ally center hotel, market 42, Brooklyn village, Spectrum Unannounced project, Polk redevelopment, maybe strewn redevelopment.

Oh, and spirit square, and maybe something at Levine land. [emoji6]

I'm thinking it was an attempt at a catchy portmanteau of "luxury" and "city". It's definitely terrible.

Portmanteau is my favorite word, :-)

I follow that webcam a lot and saw that last one earlier and just had to make it my fb cover pic. The clouds looked awesome there.

Yeah it's such a great vantage. I wish it updated more than every 15 mins and it was higher quality bc it gets killer shots all the time.

WIsh I could've been even there in  person for the sunset but the Mecklenburg Air Quality webcam didn't disappoint. https://www.mecknc.gov/luesa/airquality/air-quality-data/pages/visibility.aspx?redirect=charmeck#

If you know any old people that live at Sharon Towers, have them take you to the top floor dining room, thats where this view is from.

The last photo show the ABB tower in Huntersville where they make cable for the ultrahigh voltage industry. Cables must be perfectly concentric with insulation else the voltage will find a weak area and "PHOOOMF".

Sorry to get all technical on you.

I’ve always wondered what the fudge that was. I just assumed it was some kind of urban fire preparedness/training tower.

I could see that easily from Skyhouse when I visited a few weeks ago (Could also see the giant new CLT control tower) but I had no idea what that ABB thing was. Figured it might be a weird Duke cooling tower. Thanks for pointing it out.

With Duke as the largest public electric utility in the US we are a center of research and manufacturing. EPRI .  https://www.epri.com/#/about/epri is here as well as ABB and other smaller though important elements in electricity, nuclear, and related businesses, consultants, suppliers. Much more than the size of the city would normally support.
