TRIGGER ALERT photos of Marine Week below and the Yiasou Greek Festival too. So much to do in Charlotte this weekend.  Marine Week uptown, Greek Festival in Dilworth, Panthers game on Sunday evening.    Even the backside of the Greek Orthodox Church is beautiful.  Not to mention the AutoFair at the Speedway.  No wonder tourism was up in all 100 NC counties and 2017 was another RECORD tourism year on top of 2016.  https://edpnc.com/100-north-carolina-counties-saw-increased-visitor-spending-2017/

The beautiful ochre-color of   @SpiritOf76  splendid photo of the AT&T Building's vertical facade reminds me of the ochre-colored tiles on Charlotte's Bechtler Museum of Modern Art (image below)

I was just thinking the same thing. Mint has so much potential. Especially during game days.

I'll be in town for Week 3 vs the Bengals. I'll be tailgating it up at 9am-ish.

I'm thinking of taking my sons to that one too.  Hopefully, work will have started on the pyramid by then.

That's true.  This hurricane might bring some strong winds and rain to the inland areas.

The green framing of the bleachers came out of the Charlotte Coliseum.  The end pieces / caps still have the Charlotte crown logos on them.

Yesterday afternoon

Sadly this is the photo of the day.  I have lived back in Charlotte since 1987 and this is the worst storm since Hurricane Hugo in 1989.  It is different than Hugo which was a wind and massive power outage event.  Florence is a flooding, some power outage and some wind damage  PROLONGED event that has been going on for 36 hours and continues to this minute. 

Charlotte Ave in Dilworth this tree missed the house but crushed 3 cars.  (my friend took this today)   all of Union County home to 200,000 plus people is under a curfew from 7 pm to 7 am tonight due to massive flooding at multiple roads across the county.
