I invaded Charlotte today lol. Didn't get to take a lot of pictures because I was there for a social event. Very impressed with what's going on there.

Since I started a discussion on my favorite completed buildings in uptown here are my 5 from today and since Bechtler is a low rise I will include another of my favorite high rises.  From photos taken today.  1. BofA Corporate Center 2. Hearst 3, 300 South Tryon Barings 4. Spring Hill Suites 5. Duke Energy Center or Bechtler  (photos and list not in any particular order but I would say BofA CC and Hearst are my number 1 and 2 favorite uptown buildings)

My least favorite high rise uptown is also photo One Independence Center or 101 Tryon whatever they are calling it now.

Last 2 photos interior staircase from a Parisian department store inside Hearst Tower.

a few more miscellaneous photos of uptown today.  Also among my favorites are the Juke Box aka One Wells Fargo and I do like the underrated 3 Wells Fargo too.

a few are from an undisclosed location in the dual brand 22 story hotel in the Epicenter.   Plus my favorite senior old building the Johnston Building new home of Chopt on the ground floor coming soon.   And lastly "Darth Vader" aka Charlotte Plaza.

So true. I enjoyed my visit yesterday. I'm always either passing through or going to other parts of Charlotte. It was the first time in a long time since I have visited uptown. A lot of energy. There was a Latino festival going on. If I had more time I would have probably taken at least a hundred photos. There's just that much to see. You guys have great parks uptown and the modern architecture is unfounded anywhere else in NC. It looks great from a distance but you really appreciate it up close. Charlotte has changed dramatically since I was a student at UNC Charlotte 20 years ago and it has really changed since my sister attended Kings College in 1988.

Here are the rest of my uptown from above photos from the Mint. Today. Notice 5th photo of Stonewall Street and how that street was largely vacant land 2 years ago past the Westin and what it looks like today.  Truly incredible change.   And a couple from street level.

True, but I love the glimpses of the skyline you get on I-85 near Mallard Creek and again near Graham Street. Really gives you the sense that Charlotte covers 300 sq miles because you’ve been driving in the city limits for what feels like forever and then you see the towers still way off and you realize that’s the center of town, and you realize there's a whole other side that stretches down to Carowinds. Makes you say "wow this is really a big city".
