That is at the Southwire cable plant in Huntersville (the white tower)

This is from a Nov 2018 thread about 485 development: 

"As it was explained to me, ABB, now Southwire, makes products for ultra high voltage environments, among other products. Such products must have as perfect as possible insulation as the voltage will find and exploit a weakness. The technology of applying the insulation evenly and predictably to the wire or other apparatus while hanging straight using gravity was the ABB specialty."

 

As RDF replied at that time, How else do you think they make all the wires that show in our photos, or something to that effect.

Next time I am up in Huntersville which will be soon I will get a close up on the cabling plant and its tower.   Ironically the plant products high voltage UNDERground transmission cables (surely don't use those around here LOL) and that tower it is 430 feet tall.

This photo reminds me of the people who were worried that South Tryon would be surpassing North Tryon in Density soon. Not gonna happen. at least not yet.

100 percent true. However, with Ally, it's hotel, Deloitte, and Duke's new tower, there should def be some beefing up on that end in two years. FNB will also significantly effect this angle, but will just add to the already dense northern end.

What I like about this angle is all the various shapes in our skyline. Rounded buildings, spires/pyramids, Sails, Handles- Seriously the most diverse skyline in it's league. So proud of What Charlotte is becoming.
