Fortunately in person it's easy to not notice power lines.

Biking up S Tryon from that angle at night is the BEST experience. Duke tower is a marvel to behold.

Not to poopoo the future Observer parcel project, but I hope they have a setback or something to keep Duke visible like this.

Well if the new tower is in fact closer to the intersection of Church/Stonewall then I would imagine the corner near Tryon would be mid-rise retail/entertainment leaving DEC completely visible from this angle. That would continue to add to the awesome layering effect S. Tryon is developing.

This one hand on the wheel one of the camera phone to get this shot. I am really impressed with the 300 South Tryon sail at the top. Look how it dominates the mid skyline. Also imagine the new Lincoln Harris tower in the foreground.  By the way for those who don't live here today was sunny and 78 convertibles with the tops down and al fresco dining all about town.

This project turned out pretty nice. It's a shame it isn't more visible in skyline shots.

Tryon Place shows 2 hotels one on Stonewall and one on College.  Could that be hotel parking on College?

They are going to either build on top of it or demolish it.

This was the most recent version, but it has since changed completely. I'm working everyday, trying to get something I am allowed to share.

If they front the garage with the hotel (assuming purchase of the Diehl building), I'm all in on this one, even scaled back.

Geez, the city is getting big. Seriously, please urban mall, publix and a few more amenities. 

I can say amongst UNCC students and millenials I work with for the bank love uptown. I can remember when uptown was a lame place but now it's the cool place, it seems.

Looking at Nick2's photo, you can really see the tremendous potential church street has if the parking decks and lone parking lot are redeveloped.  I believe the parking lot diagonally behind the Carillion Building is slated for a hotel project (grand bohemian?).  Anyways, the church street street-scape would be greatly improved if the several block stretch of low-rise parking decks became towers with ground floor retail or restaurants and the parking moved underground or moved to the several floors between street level and the first occupied floors of the towers.

Amazing (yet strangely psychologically-fitting in our culture) that there was no coverage of the Womens' March in Charlotte today, save for one Observer writer, and one online Charlotte blog (Charlotte Stores of all things).

This had far more people than the height of the demonstrations over Keith Scott. I hope aerial or someone's condo tower patio photos come from this. The crowd was so big it took ages for the group to move as one.
