One thing that kinda bugs me sometimes is that the Bofa center looks squished. I wish it was built a little taller and thinner but it’s still a gorgeous skyscraper.

Standard office floor plate sizes kept that from being possible. Also anything square in shape is going to look fat from a 45 degree angle. the diagonal is always longer than the sides.

Thanks for sharing. I never thought about the angle. Now that I think about it I have seen it skinner in some positions and thicker in others.

Today.  Various buildings and angles.  All construction sites were busy with people but many people not uptown today and I do have one Christmas tree in the mix.

^That last pic of the Embassy Suites...I thought that restaurant fell through (believe the name is Suki Akor).  This is the first time I've seen signage up on it.  Good to see that.  I saw they have a website but can't tell if they are open yet or still u/c?

^^ No I think that restaurant is getting ready to open soon. I thought I saw a now hiring sign but they may have been somewhere else.

Just yesterday I was thinking, wow, I have completely forgot about the chiller on 300 South Tryon, and then there ya go, the most unfortunate thing EVER!!!!!

I was about to say the same thing. When I saw that pic I couldn't believe how bad that looks. What an eyesore on an otherwise beautiful building.

^^^ Everyone calm down you can really only see it from this angle and I was on the rail trail between the 3rd St and CTC station.

That Embassy Suites looks so cold ( where is the beige when you need it /sarc ) still very sterile looking hotel...

Went Uptown last night for the Christkindlmarkt at Bearden Park.  Loved the lighting schemes I saw, particularly on the new Barings building and DEC.  Pardon the quality of some of these photos.

I drove through downtown last night coming home from dinner. Light shows and displays and color and everything was just astounding. My wife who is always very "meh" about uptown commented on how great it all was. Highest praise.

Merry Christmas Charlotte and UP peoples Christmas trees from around Charlotte and one from my personal home.  The 2nd and 3rd photos from Wells Fargo Atrium and Plaza.  The last 2 are from the Hearst Plaza and that is my favorite uptown tree.   Have a great holiday!
