What is it with southern cities and power lines?  Buckhead giving anywhere in charlotte a run

My only guess is that it's cheaper and more efficient than trying to bury them. Also, southern cities winters are a lot more bearable than say Alabany NY or Minnesota.

I'm just gonna say it: I don't notice power lines, even in photos, until someone else points them out. Call it brainwashing or whathaveyou but it's whatever! As long as the poles don't block the sidewalk...

Spot on guess. Up north, they're forced to stick them underground or else they will collapse every winter.

I suggested that a while back when a potential MLB team was a hot topic. The MLB stadium being at the uppermost grassy lot in the photo with a mutually-shared light rail station (provided that light rail would be able to use the tracks next to BOA Stadium) in between the two to the left of 277.

I think the convention center needs to be within a block of light rail. Whether it's the blue line or the eventual silver line. It would need to be certain that the silver is going to take that route but that's not a terrible location since it abuts the interstate and convention centers are mostly dead space from a street level perspective.

People who visit remember trees. Trees and shade and lush greenery. Please show those photos, Charlotte (whoever you are). A view of concrete and glass and steel towers satisfies for 10 minutes and then one wanders to the corner where the view is green into the western distance. Trees and green to the horizon, ripples of the Appalachians in the distance and there one stays until called for dinner.

Took a walkabout around uptown today (first day in about a week with no rain well at least so far)  the sky was perfect.   Puffy white clouds it felt and looked like a Miami day. 

1./2.  Darth Vader aka Charlotte Plaza was looking great today 3. The Wells brothers  4. The crown for the QC and this month supposedly AC by Marriott hotel is opening this month.

5. 1 BAC tower  6. Looking up Trade St to the Square  7. More of the Wells family  8. even 400 South Tryon was looking good today. 9.  Duke Energy Center and its mini me Museum Tower
