I believe they were Merchandise Marts or an Expo Center of some sort.

Obviously, the one in London is not a Parking Deck.. I guess that one right next to DUKE building is for Parking, isn't it?

everything you see in the Duke Energy Center building is office or retail space all parking underground dittos for the Museum tower.  It has to be one of Charlotte's deepest parking garages I can't remember how many levels it goes down but it is a lot.  Their new tower is all office with the parking garage in the rear attached.

My friend got this which I call Midtown Monsoon!   Boy did it come down today I was caught in Berewick area today and could not see because of such heavy rain then it stopped about 15 minutes later or so.  I always tell people I live in Miami for 3 months of the year  heavy like clock work daily T storms.
