What a difference 35 years makes. Only BofA Plaza is even still visible in the second pic. That's impressive. I remember that little 2-story building of little shops in the lower right of the first pic with the orange panels. It was on the corner of West 10th and N. Graham and was torn down about a year after I moved to 4W to make way for 626 N. Graham condos (the 4-story brick and dark green building peeking out between Silo Lofts and the Garrison and below Hearst... er, Truist).

Having lived in the Triangle for several years, I'm always amused when I hear people suggesting that Raleigh and Charlotte are peer cities. That's ridiculous. Raleigh is nice, but Charlotte is vastly superior.

Impressive; but Im sorry 277 looks old, and small town looking. I understand where the money went; blue line. I'm not advocating a teardown and build 20 lanes. It just doesnt match the skyline.

^ Yes I captured a few minutes of the flakes at the Railyard look under the Charlotte Weather thread. Before the Polar vortex arrived I shot these photos. Look at all the construction in this one photo especially in uptown.

Grey day in the QC with our 5 minute snow storm then a cold rain.

Found this YT clip that had some shots of the skyline, racetrack, and the old coliseum on Tyvola from the early 1990s. Also, the first coliseum and ovens auditorium.
