obviously you have not been to Chick-fil-A uptown as it is in the overstreet mall.   as previously posted open to the public but not well advertised used many by uptown workers and a few tourists who stumble upon it like those at the Omni or Hilton uptown or the Epicenter hotels. 

My mind is absolutely blown away right now! I thought the only Uptown Chik-Fil-A was the one at Jonson and Wales

The line at J&W is probably shorter. The one in overstreet mall is routinely 50-60 people deep at lunch time. (For heaven's sake people, go to Energy Cafe! Better food, locally owned, and cheap.)

Now looking at those photos with the people it shows how everyone concentrates on what the people look like, do I know them, is the last guy going to grab my camera and throw it to the ground  etc.  I will stick with buildings, nature and food.

Went up that way last week for the CFD's initial entry exam at the Shriner's Temple. I normally go via Old Concord to see my brother at UNCC so I decided to see how much has changed on Tryon since I moved away from UC a year ago. Nice to see some of the retail spaces in the JW Clay deck are filling up, including a Sabor. The hotel is much closer to the roadway than I realized and I think it will make the area look MUCH more dense, not to mention the inevitable fringe development along Tryon down toward the hospital, either in the form of private acquisition, more medical, or the least likely considering the land they already own, but more UNCC facilities. This will help with the well known phenomenon whereas people will be willing to walk farther when their route is more "dynamic" with businesses and buildings, artwork, etc, versus parking lots and massive lawns.

Couple photos of our lakes coming in today.  I was gone for a week Lake Norman looks really muddy did you have some rain in the last week? 

Lake Norman first a couple of shots and couple of Mountain Island Lake which looks much less muddier.   Flew in over Winston then over Rowan County then over Mooresville then slightly over to Hwy 16 corridor into CLT.

All of these pics you all are posting are amazing. I like that there are angles that I've never seen, almost like another city. I love all the pics with no people that focus on the buildings and street-scape, but I love seeing the human activity and diversity of the citizens.

Not advocating for this, but just tossing it out there. I know some don’t like over street mall bc it detracts from the street activity etc...however, the truth is, over street holds the majority of the soft retail we want in uptown. There are surprisingly a lot of clothing and boutique stores in this “mall”. Problem is is that majority of these places carry banking hours and either close at 5 on the weekdays and closed on the weekend. You have Jos A Bank, ivy n Leo, and other boutique shops. So if we’re not getting this kind of retail out in the streets like we want(at least like how I want lol), then is it too far fetched of an idea to  actually take over street mall to the next level? Meaning extended hours during the week and at least minimal hours on the weekend as well. I mean there are some good eating spots in here that a lot of people don’t realize too. Add more clothing and shopping options as well. Could be our urban mall. This is where jos a bank and ivy & Leo are...why not add more stores and elevate the shopping experience:

Off topic, but great shot.  I was in PR about a year ago but didn't make it to the west side of the island.  Beautiful place, thought about going back over spring break, but I got absolutely trucked by exams lol.
