Great photos!  Charlotte is such a city of trees and I love it (and it is good for the earth too)   In 2nd photo that LKQ auto parts warehouse really stands out as one of the largest big box warehouses close in.    again Fantastic photos!

What a beautiful day in the QC

^ I had a really nice paddle along the Belk River this morning. A hawk was circling overhead as the rising sun peaked through the skyline. I stopped for an omelet on the riverfront terrace of Yolk at College Landing, their coffee is amazing.

After breakfast I scootered down to Little Sugar Creek in Freedom Park to do a little surfing. It was a great way to start the day in the QC.

After surfing I’ll take the streetcar up East blvd and grab lunch at the Miller-Gaston Farm to Food Hall (Kingston and Rail Trail). The new overhead surfboard racks on the Dilworth streetcar work great, although longer boards sometimes block ac vents. I am glad CATS finally went fare free, it was tough to keep track of my pass while shredding Wellesley break.

After lunch I’ll take my honeysuckle tea and walk down to work at the Toomey ave arts collective (the buildings between Wilmore dr and Tremont) where I am the buildings maintenance guy (the retrofitted skylights are always leaking). It is inspiring to be part of the largest gentrification-proofed community-operated artist collective in the South. Just an FYI, we have a big expansion coming as WFU medical school builds its arts therapy research facility on our campus.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the Price’s Chicken Southend Kayak Polo League matches start on July 4th in the Belk River at the newly expanded Brevard watersports facility (now with 4 water polo courts!). The season continues through October 15th. There are 16 teams this year and all after match events will be held at the D9 beer garden at the Walton Docks. Beer is half price following matches thanks to sponsorship from the Whitewater Center (who is providing kayaks for competitors again this year!)

There are creeks (very small creeks) on both sides right. Can't we just get some of the big water pumps like the whitewater center has and pump water in from the two?

I would miss not having 277 around the City; it's a good way to traverse Uptown, without getting stuck inside the City.

As for the water feature, what happened to the Crystal Lakes concept that was supposed to come to CLT?

Quite a few photographers on the Central Ave bridge to watch this sunset today. Ended as a dud but gave some decent color for a few minutes.

when Charlotte did not make the cut for Amazon 2nd HQ I said we would be alright and other companies would come here because they are not here.  Today proves that point again.

Someone should look at Prices Chicken Coop website. It appears to be constructed by a 14 year old 12 years ago and is charming, in a sense, consistent with the menu, history, family ownership. Before I opened the site I predicted what I would see and was correct. I know they always close for 4 July weekend or week and I checked the website. First time to do so. No information about my question, of course. 

They changed from fried potato rounds to french fries a few years ago which is the only update I detect on the site.
