CATS posted this 1995 pic of a shuttle bus today on their FB page. The photo is from Andrill Terrace near JSU. I found the same location in Google Maps, and it's interesting to see it 25 years later. Same tree on the right but definitely not the same skyline. BofA was looking lonely. Back then it kind of reminds me of how the BofA tower in Atlanta still looks today. Out there by itself.

Charlotte is starting to look substantial.   I see no reason why it can't catch up to Atlanta in population but also avoid Atlanta's mistakes.   Pineville and the area around the airport and the west side generally could easily add over 1m residents in dense, transit-oriented areas.  (For those who fear pandemics, the area around the Great Pee Dee in S.C. would be an option.)

Decades to build a light rail light and modest expansion with true commuter rail no where in sight.

Sure Charlotte will continue to grow, especially once the great migration from the coast really starts, but we are way behind on infrastructure as is, let alone what another million+ people will look like.

Question, about 8 floors down you will notice a large concrete wall. Curious as to why they would add this, and is it permanent. My theory is maybe signage attaches there?

The Large Concrete Wall in the photo (There are actually a couple of walls, one on either side of the building) is actually a Load Bearing Reinforced Concrete Beam.  It’s there to transfer the Load from the Vertical Columns cast in place (CIP) for the Residential portion of the Structure horizontally to the Vertical CIP Columns for the Office portion of the building.  This is commonplace in some mixed used buildings where  the uses/floor plates are vastly different like going from Office to Residential.  Going from Hotel to Residential the difference is a bit less drastic.
