@King of the Queen City I love the first picture you posted there. Something about a classic yellow school bus in front of the queens majestic skyline is really comforting. It's like it gives Charlotte's skyline a human scale to the towers scraping the sky.

I found it comforting as well, largely because it represents a return to normalcy. Even though schools are still not back in full swing, seeing a school bus on the road gives the city the kind of life that it has been lacking throughout this pandemic. Here’s a link to the  “Rhapsody in Blue” animation from Disney’s Fantasia 2000, which I think really captures the spirit of city life.

I've always thought that  one of Charlotte's big advantages over Atlanta is the former's  relative lack of bland 1970s buildings.

Oh how I wish 85 was a a few miles closer to see that view.  Let everyone see the Queen in here absolute best.

Take lots of photos Charlotte UP next week I am off to drive to Texas.  and the journey is the destination with stops in Atlanta, Montgomery, Mobile, Biloxi, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Houston then on to Austin then back.  I will eat Tex Mex at Ninfas in Houston, a po-boy in New Orleans, gulf coast shrimp, steaks in Texas and yes a few In N Out Burgers and an Orange shake from Whataburger!
