So what is bitty and beau's. This is the first I've heard of it?

Everyplace I went by today was packed.  Uptown crowded with the Latin festival and Speed street, Southend was packed in every direction, even downtown Waxhaw with some sort of festival.  Drove by Carolina Place Mall and the parking lot was full!  Backups on 85 at Concord Mills Blvd the race and the mall.  Charlotte was out and about today maybe it was the week of rain.    Every those inflatable bunnies had swarms of people around them. 

@tozmervo free coffee on me at Bitty and Beau's and of course a free doughnut from around the block.

For me, it’s seeing the two Wachovia towers, & the neon lights on the Soviet Duke building.

400 South Tryon always seemed to dominate the skyline because the building was lit up so well.

Little KJ took this from the family's Plymouth Fury sedan whilst on I-77   this is old school Charlotte.  Circa 1981 or so.  Notice the Charlotte Plaza building under construction.

Facts. No offense to the OP, but I chuckled when I read "back in the day". 

I gotta dig out the 3 rolls of photos I took on a 102 degree Sunday in 1995...back in the day.

Showing some soon graduating College of Charleston grads around Charlotte both uptown and Southend.  To say they were impressed is understatement.  Plus their first scooter rides since they don't exist in Charleston.  Of course Charlotte shines and both are interested in moving here after graduation.    I was going to show them the inflatable bunnies but alas they are gone.  They thought I was talking about a band the "Inflatable Bunnies"

Architect was joint Perkins+Will and C Design

GC was joint Turner Construction and Rodgers Builders
