Charlotte Photo of the Day

That aircraft is an absolute marvel of engineering...wish I could have seen it for myself.

It's impressive to be sure. I missed the landing by about 5 minutes. The overlook was packed.

Here's a few more. All of them were taken either through the fence or above it.

Those are some AWESOME photos, guys! Superb job!!

I've recently been getting into recording my drives through cities and recorded I-77 from I-485 down to the Belk Freeway and over to Kenilworth Avenue. I know this isn't a photo, but if you skip to 2:22 and 3:40 you'll see views of the new Uptown skyline with the Vue and Duke Energy Tower now completed.

Nice freakin video. Reminds me of those racing arcade games where you race though cities and the skylines scroll across the screen as you race by them. Our flagship city is impressive. Nobody can deny that. The Wellchovia building has a presence that rivals Bofa IMO. Is there a vid of 77 northbound from the SC line?

Awesome video and spectacular quality. I especially liked the exit markers and tidbits of info you placed in there. That was like Pop-Up Video for urban buffs. Once again, good job.

I'm glad all of you liked it! I normally like to add more info and facts in there, but as a Final Cut Express user, I'm limited to 100 tracks of editing (graphics, text, etc.) in LiveType and Charlotte has a lot of numbered routes that eat up limited room. :) I know the the orange info. bars may have been a bit too bold, but I was trying to make it Charlotte themed by using the Bobcats' color. :silly: Thanks for watching!

Do you take requests? How about a superfast ride from I-485 Station to Uptown on the Lynx, with "Riding on the Metro" by Berlin as the background music? I've always thought about doing this...

Of course! That's actually a great idea you have! I'd probably have to contact CATS and maybe the city to request permission and/or apply for a filming permit. For that, I'd love to be up front in the train with the operator and film out of the windshield. Not sure if that's possible or not...

I'll look into it though.
