Can't wait to see a picture during tomorrow night's game. I was blown away driving down Wilkinson from the airport last night. So much blue! NASCAR, Duke, Carillon, the Vue, and IJL were all lit up blue (but not BofA). Plus, the stadium was lit up...just a sight to see coming into the city! I hope there are some good skyline shots on TV during the game!

Ha-ha, it's not a big deal.  I would wager that 10 people country wide noticed.  It still looks cool.  I actually kind of like how it book ends the middle cluster with One Wells.  THEY SHOULD MOVE IT.

Well, they moved one of our signature buildings (and added a few infill buildings we don't even have) to make for a fuller composition. That's a lot nicer than using a 6 year old shot like often happens!

 

Anyway the aerial shots of uptown at night were all super flattering IMO.

Does anyone remember that episode of Rocco's Modern Life where they had tickets to the WWWWWF match, and their seats were so high up that they were in orbit? Thats where these were taken. I kid, but yes this is from the top of the scoreboard.

Awesome aerials, but does anybody else feel like the Belk Highway should not have been built? Charlotte would look and feel a whole lot denser if SouthEnd and Uptown were seamless with each other.

With all the bridges already built over the Belk, I think the space would make a cool waterfront connection to and Greenway extension off Little Sugar Creek. Think San Antonio Riverwalk between Uptown and South End.

Atlanta has I85 though downtown, and it does not appear to take away from the unity around the road.   When Charlotte get more high rises in Southend, Belk will not be an issue.
