Why is it so expensive to live in Salinas, CA? I have never heard of that place until now.

I'm not sure. I'd think that San Diego would rank higher than Salinas, but I didn't make the rankings. All I know is that living on the west coast, and particularly California is extremely expensive. The high cost of living is what's keeping me away...there's no way I could ever afford a decent place there!

So Brownsville must be a horrid place to live since it made the worst educated and the worst culture list.

Maybe Salinas is one of those small towns that has somehow managed to only have really righ people to pump alot of money into the town.
