When is Vick's sentencing hearing? He's kinda fallen off the face of the Earth lately. Although The Charlotte Observer is reporting a very small link to Vick with a local murder. Apparently quite a few names in the victim's black book corresponded with names that were included in Vick's indictment. They aren't sure if they are people or names of dogs.

December 10th is the sentencing date.

Vick was indicted on state charges today. He was indicted on one count of beating or killing or causing dogs to fight other dogs and one count of engaging in or promoting dogfighting. Each count is a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison. The grand jury decided not to indict him on eight counts of animal cruelty, which could have led to as many as 40 years in prison if convicted.

OK, Vick is officially an idiot. He tested positive for marijuana so now the judge has restricted him to his home between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. with electronic monitoring and ordering him to submit to random drug testing. Because Vick violated the conditions of his release, Judge Hudson could take that into consideration during sentencing.

Sounds fair enough. Let's face it, compared to where he was 2 years ago the guy has lost everything. He's never going to be out on the street, but he'll never be filthy rich again. His career is basically over (since he'll be 30 when he gets out of jail, close to retirement time) and most of his money is gone. Nobody would ever pay him for endorsements again.

Compared to other celebrity criminals, Vick bit it hard. OJ might have gone bankrupt but he's still living a celebrity lifestyle. Vick will spend the next decade trying just to be ordinary again.

3 years of probation, not 3 months. He also received a $5,000 fine. He still has to face animal cruelty charges in Surry County Circuit Court on April 2nd. As part of his parole, he should have to do several thousand hours of community service at the Humane Society or something.
