Charleston Named in Top 10 Most Beautiful Places in America

Today Charleston was featured prominently on The Today Show as #9 in their weekly series "America the Beautiful". This is truly an honor we can be proud of, considering the number of candidates in our great country! Here is a link to the Today Show webpage with more: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19838563

Mayor Riley gushed, and the reporter tested with a hidden camera the "Most Mannerly" designation (the city passed with flying colors!), and both the historic and the modern were showcased live. They did a great job, and Charleston shone brightly for those here and abroad contemplating their next vacation destination.

I'll tell you guys this, my hometown is really shining these past few weeks. After the tragedy of the firefighters, the community is coming together, and the positive publicity with the media has been astounding. The city is truly painting a brighter picture after that terrible day in June.

As I've said before, Charleston is a very resilient city and has managed to bounce back from every disaster it's experienced up to this point.
