New Concord Hotel

According to The Observer, developer Griffin Stafford LLC announced plans today to build a 120-room Hilton Garden Inn just off Speedway Boulevard on Gateway Lane.

Actually there is another hotel in the permitting stage for that immediate area as well. A 6-story 105k sq. ft. Marriot Residence Inn is slated to be built in front of the newly built convention center and Embassy Suites. There are going to be a lot of hotels in this area very soon.

I know this is slightly off topic from the Hilton, but whatever happened to there being a hotel attached to the mall as I thought originally was the plan for the mall?
