[Presonal comment: While the area is still quite suburbanized, these new developments should not only add density, but start the conversion from a suburban, automobile-centered region to one that caters to bicyclists, pedestrians and other modes of transport. I look at this area as Arlington II in a way, and the city should encourage these types of developments to not only boost their tax base, but to encourage middle-income residents to move back in.]

Planners approve 16-story building near White Flint Metro

The Montgomery County Planning Board unanimously approved the initial plans for White Flint View, a 16-story apartment building near the White Flint Metro Station. Developers Naples Commercial LLC will finalize the details on how traffic will move into the underground parking deck before submitting revised, detailed site plans for the project, which will take three months to complete. That is when the board will know the construction schedule and the total cost of the project.
