Marlins new ballpark closer to reality

Recommended Posts

Round and Round we go.

A lot of people in these parts are getting upset about the tax money going towards the stadium. The real question is how they think they're going to build a roofed stadium with 367 million. Though the contract says the team will cover any overruns, dont' be suprised to see the Marlins at the public trough again and again in the coming months/years. I think this is a decent try and wish the Marlins luck. I'm a big fan, but the process bothers me.

38k I think is only a little below average for the newer facitilites. They're trying to make them smaller and more intimate in an effort to get away from the large, cavernous mutli-use stadiums of the 70's and 80's.

That is neat that the marlins are getting a new stadium, but I just wish that the city would give a little more to the reigning World Series champs.
