Does anyone here recall how the exterior of city hall look prior to the 1987 renovation? The renovation cost was $10 million so this tells me it had to been a major renovation..

I don't specifically recall the renovation that was mentioned, but I've been here since 1966 and the City Hall complex has looked pretty much the same since then.

I don't remember it being much of a change either. I know they were having trouble with the marble slabs on the side of the building falling off, so it may have just been to secure those better.

And I think they added some pedestrian area over the firestation to allow a view of the park. That is about it as far as i can remember.

It seems like the stairs heading down from the courthouse to the park have been redone a couple of times, maybe that was included in that renovation bill.
