The Westin/Quinteiles site is on the south *east* corner of Page/40. The SW corner already has a hotel. (Homewood Suites?) With the Hilton further back and up the hill going west. Also nearby as the crow flies, the Hotel Indigo is slated for (under construction)? SE of the Miami/40 intersection off Central Park Drive.

The Aloft is to be built next to the Hilton Garden Inn, NE of the Aviation Parkway-40 intersection on RDU Center Drive.

There is also a Cambria Suites under construction on Airgate (near Capital City Chop House), a little NW of the 40/Aviation interchange.

Homewood Suites is on Central Park Drive at Miami. The other hotels at Page/I-40 include the Sleep Inn, Comfort Suites and Wingate. The Sheraton and another extended-stay place are located up Emporer/Imperial...something... from Page.

It is Comfort Suites... The extended stay place is something by Marriot (Spring Hill Suites?) off the

part of Slater east of Emperor.

With 40, 540, and the airport, the road grid on both sides of the 40 corridor (almost non-existent to the north, tangled mess to the south) from Durham Freeway through the airport exits leaves a lot to be desired.

The quintiles building is looking quite large lately. There is a large setback from Page Road. That setback area will be filled with landscaping and not parking at least, but I'm still disappointed that nobody has yet made the recognition that this area needs to start looking more like a city, rather than an office park on steroids.

DId I miss something??? When did the Westin disappear from the Quintiles project. While it was going up, I kept saying "why doesn't it say "site of new Westin"" and now, obviously, it isn't there. What happened?

The Westin was put on hold because of the economy.
