2. Batten didn't have a monopoly even on print advertising in Hampton Roads, much less all advertising. Again, if you weren't an advertiser, none of your business -- what he charged was what people were willing to pay. If they weren't willing to pay it, then there wouldn't have been any advertising in his publications, now would there have been? If you were an advertiser, then you had other options -- billboard, electronic, transit, etc. Nobody held a gun to your head.

Will the new library be as big as the old Kirn building? Looking at the site, it doesn't look like it will be bigger unless you remove the Selden Arcade too.

Is the new library supposed to connect into the Seaboard building?

They are definitely working on the Seaboard building, preparing it to take over the role. What a waste of taxpayer money.
