Dateline 2020: NWA declared urban disaster zone.

NWA has officially been declared a disaster zone by the U.S. government. The following events provide the framework:

2009 Tyson Foods is purchased by a South American beef production company after bird flu wipes out most of the chickens in the United States.

2011 J.B.Hunt sells out to a Chinese shipping company so they could better control the flow of goods being shipped into the U.S.

2015 Wal-Mart moves headquarters to China. With most of their goods being produced there and the ever expanding Chinese economy, it has been the top market for Wal-Mart the past two years. Company spokesman said about the move "With our inventory being produced there and now that they are our top market it was time we moved there to better serve our customers." Unemployment rate goes to 35%.

2016 With the federal election at hand and continuing war in Africa over which will be the last non-Muslim country left Congress has decided that, like the removal of Indian mascots from universities in 2007, universities will no longer be able to use unclean animals as mascots. The University of Arkansas has to abandon the use of Razorback. The following year enrollment drops by 50% and has yet to recover. Mr. Frank finally retires from the University.

2019 I-49 is completed but has very little traffic. There is very little auto movement with gas at $20 per gallon. People move to the Delta where food crops can been grown locally and their cost does not have to rely on over the road transportation. Helena becomes a major shipping hub for less expensive water transport.

2020 Unemployment rate has dropped to 20% due to the reduction in population. The government buys up whole vacant subdivisions and fences them in for use as federal internment camps.

Will the above come true? I do not know but it could.

I don't know, I don't think I could see all those things happening. Maybe one or two at the most. If all those things happened there going to be a lot more than just NWA as an 'urban disaster zone'.

There is really only one of the above items listed that would be of major concern outside NWA and that is the price of gas. As for the Tyson takeover this could easily happen without bird flu.
