Sperling's Best Places

4 posts in this topic

Looks like NWA has picked up some more recognition. Sperling's Best Places picked NWA the top affordable place to live. While people in Arkansas probably don't think of NWA as necessarily 'affordable', NWA's median home price of $212,300 is below the National average. The cost of living here is 93% of the US average. Job growth of 4.22% well above the National average of 1.66%. Some of the things listed that played a factor; low unemployment, affordable housing, U of A sports, natural beauty, cultural amenities like the Walton Arts Center and future Crystal Bridges, and future NWA Naturals baseball. Some quotes from Sperling. Fayetteville is "one of the country's best kept secrets'. Springdale "feels like the old South". Rogers "a sleepy little town that has boomed as a major residential area".

It seems like every organization and publication out there has some ranking of the top places to live. And guess what, they are all VERY different. We were not even listed in CNN Money's rankings this year.
