This is the sprawling Donaldson Center area, the industrial epicenter of Greenville County. Originally constructed as a World War II Army Air Base, Donaldson Air Force Base was closed by the Pentagon in 1963. The huge airfield and the surrounding land was purchased by the city and county of Greenville and developed into a multi-modal industrial park.

Looking south the I-385 / I-185 / US-276 interchange area between Mauldin and Simpsonville.

Looking north this is the I-85 / I-185 interchange. Downtown Greenville is barely visible in the upper left.
