Bill would limit tax increase requests

Bill would slap limits on tax votes

Mike Sak wants a bill passed that would limit how many times schools or governments can go to taxpayers requesting a tax increase, as in the local case of GRCC asking for an increase twice this year (both times the measure failed).

State so-called "leaders" messing in local politics? Who cares how many times they request a tax increase? Isn't that what the election process is all about? If this passes, can we request a limit on how many telemarketing calls these politicians make to each household requesting votes?

This is a terrible bill. You are right; isn't this why we vote? In light of Sak's complete drunken/childish meltdown in Traverse City (as told by the State Police) this bill is even more funny. So is Sak going to tip back a 30-pack and start bossing around the good people over at GRCC telling them that they better drive him around town or else he will outlaw ANY funding increases?
