Well this certainly didn't happen, infact it's nice and pretty comfy outside, I personally like it because I don't really like cold weather outside.

I'm not complaining. If its not snowing I'd prefer warm weather, actually sat on the balcony for a good hour this morning taking it in. Much better then the freezing temperatures we had earlier this week!

I must have done the wrong weather dance.... Well as a consolation prize compared to the mess in much of the rest of the country this is pretty good. I too have been on the porch in short sleeves all afternoon. After freezing a few days ago. Gotta love the Carolina weather rollercoaster.

Crazy Wind today In my neck of the woods all of the stars I hang on my front porch blew off and got ripped up. Oh well, New Year and all must mean it's time for new porch hangers. The big tin star nailed next to the front door blew off too but it's in fine shape. And the sturdy lounge chairs on the front yard blew over.

A massive oak tree is blocking East Blvd @ Park. Avoid this area tonight as it's going to be awhile before it's cleared.

I live in Pineville right outside of Ballantyne and I was awoken to the howling of the wind whipping right outside(my bed backups to a window) this morning around 6am. I grabbed my camera and wanted to take pictures but my memory card was in the other room and I didnt feel like walking to go get it. It was like sheets of rain but worse. I didnt know what the heck was going on, I should have turned on the TV but I just went back to back instead.

OMG, how in heck did we all of a sudden get put under a Winter Storm Warning for 3-5" of snow tonight into tomorrow? In my previous 3 winters of living down here, we have had a grand total of about 2". Sounds like it could be quite bad tomorrow morning for rush hour.

^Well it used to snow a lot more frequently around here, even in the Upstate. We haven't really had any significant winter weather since December of 2002. Kind of sucks for me as this looks like more of a coastal storm, which means it will mostly spare those living further west Here's to hoping you guys get lots of the white stuff (drive carefully).

BLIZZARD '09 has crippled Charlotte. So we went to Cook Out for shakes at 1:30AM. Massive amounts of snow, people!

A very thin layer here in Dilworth and reports of nothing in N Charlotte. Roads are just wet with no issues. I really like snowstorms in Charlotte. Just enough to look nice for a few hours but no real hassle.

When I was crossing South Blvd (by foot) on my way to the train platform, I could feel the slush getting harder as the temperature has dropped. It was about that point when I saw tire tracks leaving the road going up on the sidewalk tearing up the grass and swerving back onto the road. I decided to get off South Blvd as quickly as possible.

I had to walk in dog in NoDa this AM. Aside from my car slip sliding briefly on a side street up there it's been clear sailing. The older neighborhoods like Dilworth and NoDa look very pretty in the snow. Like Rockwell come to life.

Well, it's about 2:00pm and here in Tega Cay all the snow has melted, save for a couple of shady spots. I think it's funny that several places closed for the day including Queens University cancelling classes all day. Even this morning the snow wasn't really sticking to the roads.

The goober on channel 9 says it is supposed to be 26 degrees in the morning. Does this mean to cover up the pretty azaleas that are getting ready to bloom?

When I lived in Brooklyn I lived in one of those basement apartments so it didn't get real hot. I can't remember if I even had a/c.

I spent a couple of summers in a mid-south basement apartment - it was great! Now, however, I'm quite exposed and cross ventilation + electric fans will only get me so far.

If you are in Charlotte, there is a good chance that much if the power is generated from nuclear fission. They claim this is green power these days. Given all the rain, there might also be some hydro power mixed in as there is a lot of water in the Catawba right now.

Charlotte just barely reached its first 90 degree reading this year, the first since last September. The forecasters really overhyped the heat.
