Noticed the very large drill/auger for the piles was parked on site this morning.

Very excited to see this go vertical!

Currently, I think this is favorite tower u/c.  As much as I love all the construction on Stonewall, N. Tryon is in need of some loving.   There are a lot of plans for N. Tryon and I am hoping this will be a catalyst to jump-start some of those projects.  I was at a pop-up market thing this past weekend and there is so much potential in this area.

It may just be my lack of architectural knowledge, but that seems like an awfully small plot to build a tower on. As long as it doesnt look like that super skinny thing in NYC I guess it will be ok.

Oh man, I can't wait for Charlotte to get its first skinny tower. I know I doubt I'll see it in my lifetime but it would be cool. This will be fairly slender but the lack of serious height won't give that super skinny look. Now, slap another 30 floors in this baby and then you've got something that will really be noticed.

It is somewhat cantilevered over the theater, so that helps make it scale a little less like a pencil tower.

"infill" meanwhile its 3 feet short of being the tallest building in greensboro, and would absolutely tower over anything in Durham, Asheville, Wilmington, Savannah, Charleston.

I think this is part of the updated, meanwhile, they could have actually used a photo of Charlotte to create it lol. Also looks like its listed at 420'

Worth noting is that not only will this be the tallest hotel in the state when completed, it will be the first majority-hotel use building to top 30 stories. It kind of blows my mind that it took this long to hit that benchmark.
