Concrete should begin pouring in the tower crane base any time now.  I believe all the Bob the Builder equipment has been extracted from the pit!  Let'r Rip!!!

Charlotte Slowly rising but at least a crane base is there now and I saw at least 4 workers in the pit. In other news the defacing of Elvis has been erased and painted over.

Looks like a ton more rebar in your last pic at the crane base as compared to prior photos KJ. So I would definitely say something good is going on. Thanks for sharing!

So I know many on here will have the answer but it is something I never knew. Am I correct to think the crane will become the elevator shaft? If so, does the crane forever become embedded in the structure? I presume there is no way to extract it?

nah, they are trying to preserve that building not have another reason for it to fall apart.

The crane foundation is sufficient for the time being, as the building rises the mounts will be within the elevator shaft (as shown in that demo video a few pages back)
