Why would it even take that long to build. There is no parkin. Just a straight up skinny structure. And it’s only 2020..so another 3 years???

I'm not saying it SHOULD take that long.  I don't believe all the excuses people make about the slow progress here.  I think more to it on the ops/admin side then anything.  That said the pace here is glacial it's been 3 years to this point.  No faith in any speed increase.  With that mindset another 3 years seems reasonable.  Would love to be wrong.

Well there has been an obvious speed increase the last 3 months, so unless there is a project shutdown, we should see this topped out within 10-12 months.

I'd expect it to rise at a floor per week, so we are talking shorter timeline to top out then that.

I’m not complaining lmao but damn that is still a long time for a building that has a footprint the size of a fast food restaurant.

Will the theater be restored too, or is it deemed unnecessary in light of Belk, etc.?   The Carolina Theater in Durham is beautiful, and it exists in a symbiotic manner with DPAC, as it gets smaller, more artsy shows.  Therefore, I hope that Charlotte's Carolina Theater will be restored.

Part of the whole purpose of the hotel is to fund the restoration. Its mentioned a few times above this post. It will be fully restored, because its needed.

That’s good to hear.  Carolina Theaters are beautiful.

Oh, so now it's "when it opens" as opposed to it having a tower crane and seven floors of an elevator core.

to his point, Charlotte has two unfinished buildings that sit dormant...but unless there is a significant issue with the theater itself, pretty sure this one is happening...

I can't wait to check into this hotel on my upper floor room and then order my Outback takeaway since it is Aussie developed to prove some of you wrong.

She's gonna be a rip snorter! Too Right!

here is your Aussie slang dictionary if you need to translate

"Too Right"!!  That is GOLD!  I'm going to start using that.  We need to put that into production, so start dropping it.

very true, but i recall you mentioned that Cleveland Construction being a sub par company...regardless, i want this to happen with out any glitches or issues.  Its just too important for the city of Charlotte, in my opinion.
