Edit: I can never link into a post.
also, hope this isn’t what we end up with.
Would be strange timing as some new interior renderings were just released...

I know we are all excited for the completion of this particular project I’m just fascinated by the negative AF posts with nothing confirmed.

Well, at the pace they're on, they'll be done with the elevator shaft in December 2021, so what's the worry?

Seriously, there's "its a small site" and "this kind of construction is new to Charlotte," and then there's "six whole elevator floors in four months; you really outdid yourself."

I will put not one but two dozen Krispy Kremes up that the hotel still isn't built at December 31, 2021.

That EB5 website also says the hotel tower portion of construction is targeting Q4 2020 to Q4 2022. So its possible they are still on schedule.

Thank you for this link.  I totally understand this site better now.  First 6 floors is FFTC space and the Tower above is InterContinental.  I wonder if they’ll bring in a different Contractor and/or Crew for the High Rise portion in early next year?

Nobody will say it outright, because FOTC is being very secretive of this project in general, but I got the impression that the hotel sheer core will continue construction after more progress has been made on the foundation, and the lower portion of the building. There are some really really really unique construction methods that I'll be highlighting on my social media in the next few days.

Idk sounds like excuses to me . They ran out of money. Calling it now this project isn’t finishing until 2030 if ever. Yeah actually it’s dead in the water. Now we have to look at this concrete monstrosity right next to Truist and BOfA Corporate. Just a couple blocks from Trade and Tryon. City isn’t gonna do anything about it. Just Terrible. What is that now 37 stalled projects mostly hotels here now?
Oh well I don’t like this building anyway. It’s just a 420ft variation of a glass box.

I come back to UP to find this crap? Quarantine getting to folks I guess.

PS - bring back the "disagree" / "down vote" reaction please.

Internet and interwebs lie Never!   why Raleigh's beaches are this crowded

See the source image

this photo is from Rio and as all of you know (I surely hope) Raleigh has no beaches and this was spread on facebook to show how stupid they think  people are during Corvid 19 in NC!    Looks more like Coney Island NY to me but what do I know.
