Once everyone started being at home 24/7 they started seeing all the things they didn't like about their houses.

This is true. I was like the guy in the commercial where his in-need-of-painting wall was taunting him. I've done more home projects in the last 12 months than in the 10 years prior, including  new appliances, deck, fence, furnishings, electronics..........

Yeah lowes and home depot have had record sales. I remember last spring going to lowes while the pandemic lockdown was at its most intense that it was literally hard to find a parking spot or shopping cart.

Quote from the article below makes it sound as if the hotel is no longer indefinitely delayed.

"The hotel construction will start once the theater podium, which serves as the development’s foundation, is completed, according to Lauren Smith from the foundation."

There was a poster saying that was the case a few weeks ago. They said other Uptown hotels would be started soon as well.

I remember seeing an article that a new hotel would be announced soon at the former Even Hotel site at Stonewall Station.  They also had a picture of someone out surveying for the site.  I wonder if any progress has been made there.

Hopefully the first priority will be filling in the "skeleton" sites at Stonewall, The Ellis, and the Intercontinental.

Additionally, I wonder if the Moxy Hotel plans have been canceled altogether or just postponed.  I believe the zoning have been finalized and it was close to breaking ground pre-covid.

Last I heard from folks in the know - the hotel portion will be continuing. The fact the crane is still there tells me all I need to know.

Idk if I'm remembering this correctly but I thought someone a very long time ago on this thread said they would erect a 2nd crane either along E 6th st side or N Tryon St side for the hotel tower.  They would remove the current crane after the bulk of the theater construction is done.  Could be wrong, my memory is a little fuzzy lol. Either way, can't wait till the tower portion starts.

I was going to say the same thing so you are not alone. I do remember seeing something like that.

Edit: They still need that crane for the window panes I believe.
