A established Milan businesswoman and her partners are bringing their successful Milan candy store, Candyland, to downtown Jackson according to the Jackson Sun. The shop will be located in the newly re-opened and redeveloped New Southern Hotel building next to the Subway that is also housed on the ground floor of the structure. The shop will specialize in a variety of sweets and candies including sacues by Paula Dean.

The second new food related business announced for downtown Jackson in the last week. Seems like the market for specialty shops and downtown commerce is definitely picking up. Hope this trend continues!
