RTI to Build Titanium Sponge Plant Near Tupelo

A site has been selected near Tupelo for a titanium sponge plant. If you are wondring what titanium sponge might be, I was also. It's apparently used in the manufacturing of airplanes and will be a support facility for Airbus Industrie. The plant is expected to be in the range of $300-400m. In spite of the political suggestions in the attached link, I doubt the announcement of this project was timed politically. This is just one more piece in a rapidly expanding northeast Mississippi industrial area.
