Pilot Mill

So I went exploring and I found this at Pilot Mill:

Is it some form of artistic expression (obviously) or did this thing once serve a purpose in an earlier form? I even went back and took a picture at night, but it didn't capture how awesome it looks. I'd recommend checking this out for yourself.

It's part of a boiler that was taken out of the mill when it was renovated. it sat for a long time in the parking lot, & then a concrete pad was poured for it to "live" on, and the lighting was added. I believe Thomas Sayre was involved, but I'm not positive about that. But yeah, it's art.
